Chiara Official Biography  Bio Chiara Back in 1998, a relatively unknown artist walked out onto the Eurovision stage in Birmingham and sang ‘The One That I Love’, with a strong and determined personality that reached into people’s hearts. Jason Cassar and Sunny Aquilina wrote the song, which finished in third place. An artist was born - ‘Chiara’.

Chiara had become a star and between 1998 and 2003 she released three albums in Malta and won the ‘Best Female Artist’ in 1998 at the Malta Music Awards. In 2000 and 2001 Chiara performed in concert with Leo Sayer and Boney M respectively.

In 2005 she returned to the Maltese finals with ‘Angel’ written by herself. More determined that ever she performed magnificently and won the ticket to represent Malta in Kiev at the 50th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. In Kiev Chiara was one of the favourites to win the trophy. She sang her heart out and placed a memorable second.

In that same year, supported as always by her father Chiara worked on her new album. This album consists of a number of great songs written by songwriters from Sweden, Belgium and the United States, amongst Diane Warren, who undoubtedly is one of the most successful songwriters this century has ever seen.

After the great result in the 2005 ESC Chiara has been working a lot around the Island and abroad, especially in Greece and Cyprus. Another highlight was the presentation of the Malta Song for Europe and supporting act during a Michael Bolton concert in Malta both in 2008. The most important change in Chiara’s life however was of course the birth of her daughter Ebony. The loss of her father late 2008, who has always been very supporting for Chiara, was a though period, but as a tribute to her father, she was determined even more to achieve another success in her career.

2009 marked once again the return of Chiara to the Malta Eurosong finals with ‘What if we’ written by Gregory Bilsen and Marc Paelinck. Backed by the Maltese people she will once again step out onto the Eurovision stage, to represent Malta in Moscow.
